This policy describes how the Review It browser extension (“the Extension”) handles information when you use it. The Extension helps you generate a short review based on your star rating, optional notes, and context from the webpage you are viewing.
The Extension does not sell your data. When you click the action to generate a review, the Extension may send the following to our backend service over HTTPS:
h1) or Open Graph title (og:title), and declared page language (for example
<html lang> or language meta tags), to tailor the generated review.
The Extension uses Chrome’s activeTab and scripting permissions so this happens only
when you invoke the Extension (for example by opening its popup)—not continuously in the background on sites you
do not interact with through the Extension.
Optional text you type in the Extension popup is saved locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local)
so it is still there if you close the popup and open it again. It is removed when you click Cancel
or after a review is generated successfully. If generation fails, the draft is kept so you can try again.
The payload is sent to our API endpoint:
https://review-it-backend-587398533610.europe-west4.run.app/api/review
(hosted on Google Cloud). Our servers may call an AI provider to produce the review text.
The app will store request logs to improve maintenance and performance, the logs are anonymizes, so no user data is logged, only the rank and the hotel/restaurant/place.
You can stop sending data by not clicking generate, or by uninstalling the Extension. You may have rights under GDPR or other laws to access, correct, or delete personal data—contact us using the details above.
The Extension is provided by the developer listed on the Chrome Web Store listing. For questions about this policy, use the contact details on the store listing.
